Chester has been REHOMED.
After years of neglect, since arriving at CPR Chester has gained a whole new lease of life, he particularly enjoys exploring in the garden and runs about quite happily. He also loves a cuddle and wants to be with people, following you and taking an interest in what you are up to.
Used to dogs in his previous existence, Chester has been mixing with dogs of all ages and sizes in his foster home but he can occasionally be a bit bossy with them, however he enjoys the company of the dog savvy cat but is rather too interested and curious about the chickens and rabbit he is in foster with.
Chester travels well in a car and enjoys his walks as he really enjoys exploring the world. He is bright and eager to please, and loves his food so he is well into his basic training and his toilet training is now very good.
Due to a severely matted coat when he arrived with us he gained a dramatic haircut, this showed how underweight he was but he is now gaining both weight and muscle, and is happy to wear a jumper on cold days and walks whilst his coat grows back in.
Chester would love an active home, either with another confident female dog, with a friendly cat or two, or even on his own if someone was around for most of the day. He is happy being left for short periods after being exercised and is crate trained, though he is happy being left in his comfy bed, he is also quiet and sleeps well overnight. Chester will suit a home where someone is around most of the time, though for short periods he will be fine to be left after being exercised. He is curious of children, so visiting youngsters would be fine or resident children of secondary school age.
Please note that this breed does require regular grooming, so make sure you take these costs into consideration before submitting an application.
Chester is 8 years old, neutered, vaccinated, chipped and worm & flea treated, and is currently being fostered in near Folkestone in Kent.
