Derek: Jack Russell cross

Derek has been REHOMED.

This little lad may not have had the best start in life but he’s determined to make up for it now! Curious, happy, cheeky and funny, he lives life at full speed but is more than happy to cuddle up on a lap and enjoy his home comforts too.

Derek is mixing happily with dogs of all ages and sizes, is fine with a dog savvy cat, ignores the rabbit and chickens in his foster home, and is happy to approach new people after a short period. In the garden, he explores for ages and has started lead training, so he will require continued patience during walks in his new home as his confidence outside the home grows.

He loves his food, which in turn helps with basic training like sit and wait, he particularly likes fishy treats. He is almost there with house training and is improving fast – he is clean in his bed, and will go outside when prompted. He is quiet and sleeps well overnight, is crate trained and also travels well in the car. He is happy in the company of older children so a home with school age children or visiting grandchildren would be fine, and he will need to live with another calm dog or 2 for company.

Derek is 2 years old, neutered, vaccinated, chipped and worm & flea treated, and is currently being fostered in near Folkestone in Kent.

If you would like to offer Derek a home, please complete our Adoption Form.

All home offers will be subject to vetting and a home visit, and an adoption agreement and donation are required.
