Teddy: Miniature Poodle cross

Teddy has been REHOMED.

Teddy is a loving character, he has bonded strongly to his foster family and will make someone a fantastic companion. He would be ideal as an only dog where someone is around for most of the day, or he could live with a calm female dog. He is clean and quiet in the house and happy to use a crate and he enjoys his walks. Teddy thrives on routine, and he can be unsettled for a couple of days when his routine is changed, but he responds well to reassurance and soon is back to his usual loveable self.

Teddy has had a rough start to life and came into our care suffering with malnutrition which had affected his coat causing it to fall out, a severe eye infection in both eyes, and a mouth full of rotting teeth. He was immediately put on to Natural Instinct which is a high quality diet, and as soon as he was well enough he was neutered and had a much needed dental which resulted in him having 23 rotten teeth removed. During his surgery his eyes were examined fully and it was found that unusually he doesn’t have a naso-lacrimal duct, which means his tears don’t drain into the nasal cavity, causing them to spill out from his eyes instead. Without regular cleaning previously this has caused the hair loss around his eye and the eye infection he came in with, but since his arrival to us his eyes are wiped twice a day (we use a tissue soaked in Leucillin) and his eyes are now fully recovered, although this simple routine will need to be maintained in his new home. Teddy’s coat is growing back in, he has had all his necessary veterinary treatment and is now ready to find his forever home.

Teddy is 7 years old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped worm and flea treated. As a non moulting breed, please take into consideration regular grooming costs before applying to adopt Teddy.
