Charlie was part of a multi poodle rescue we carried out nearly 4 years ago, all the dogs were in a terrible state through neglect but they eventually recovered and all them went on to wonderful new homes, including Charlie who was adopted by a lovely local lady. After a couple of years Charlie was joined by Patch a lovely little blind Poodle, after his owner had passed away, and they all lived very happily together.
Earlier this summer we were saddened to receive a call letting us know that Charlie and Patch’s owner had been taken very seriously ill and was being treated in a London hospital. The dogs had been kennelled so we immediately made arrangements to have the little pair brought in to one of our foster homes, and they settled straight back in with us. Charlie is as super as ever and little blind Patch doesn’t go anywhere without a toy in his mouth! Sadly we have since learned that their owner has sadly passed away and the boys have been signed over to our care so we can find them another marvellous home. Since being in our care Patch has now been neutered and had a dental and both boys have been brought up to date with their vaccinations so are now ready to find their new family.
Charlie & Patch are a fantastic pair of dogs, they sleep, play and eat together but they still have lots of love to give their human family too. Both dogs are very gentle, family orientated, and are used to older children.
Patch is 11 years young and is the cuddlier lap dog of the two, he will grumble at Charlie if he’s trying to interrupt a cuddle but Charlie is used to this and just raises his eyebrows in disgust! Patch is almost completely blind, although he can see some light/dark shapes, and this doesn’t bother him in the slightest, but a home environment where furniture isn’t moved around too much would be necessary. He adores toys and can usually be found walking around with a big soft toy in his mouth. 8 year old Charlie is the more outgoing of the two, he also adores a fuss and a cuddle and they are both active chaps who love their walks and they are excellent off lead (although Patch needs watching so he doesn’t veer off course…).
The boys love their crate and will curl up together in it by choice and sleep in it together overnight, they are clean in the house, and will be fine to be left for a few hours. They would make an ideal pair for a calm home with someone who loves getting out for a good walk. Whoever adopts these two will fall in love with them instantly, they really are a smashing pair. Please don’t let their age put you off, miniature poodles are renowned for being long lived, many reaching up to 18 years of age!
Both boys are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, worm & flea treated and are being fostered near Deal, Kent. As a non moulting breed, please take into consideration regular grooming costs before applying to adopt them.
