Jaffa: Cocker Spaniel

Jaffa has now been REHOMED.

Jaffa is a quiet calm lady who spends most of her day watching the world go by, she has previously been used for breeding, but no more pups for her now as she adapts to her new life. She has the sweetest nature and is very affectionate once she gets to know you. She is fine with other dogs but prefers the quiet life, not enjoying anything too boisterous. She adores to be groomed, in fact any activity that means she is the centre of attention!

Jaffa walks well on the lead and is clean and quiet in the home, she doesn’t play with toys or other dogs but we hope to find her a home where she can find her inner puppy and live life to the full. We are looking for a quiet but active home, without young children, and where someone is around for the majority of the time.

She likes to gather a lot of toys around her, and has managed to chew her way through a Kong, and can be possessive of her toys when other dogs are around by giving a warning growl, although she is fine with people removing toys from her, this behaviour is common with ex breeding ladies.

Good on the lead, Jaffa really enjoys her walks but does need more work walking in a straight line,  her recall is good in the home and garden so in time she should be good to go off lead. She is absolutely fine in the car and clean and quite in the home.

Jaffa walks well on the lead and is clean and quiet in the home, she doesn’t play with toys or other dogs but we hope to find her a home where she can find her inner puppy and live life to the full. Each day her personality is developing and we would like her to go to a home that will encourage her and enrich her life. We are looking for a quiet but active home, without young children, and where someone is around for the majority of the time. Jaffa will happily live with another calm dog or cats but would be happy as the only dog where she can get all the attention to herself, as long as she is not left for long periods.

Jaffa came in to our care with a chronic ear condition which has been thoroughly treated, but regular cleaning and ear care will need to be ongoing for the rest of her life, a common issue with some spaniels.

Please note that this breed does require regular grooming, so make sure you take these costs into consideration before submitting an application.

Jaffa is 5 years old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated.
