Goodbye 2016 – Hello 2017

As 2016 draws to a close we are looking back over yet another amazing year, one that has once again led to us helping over 120 dogs into new loving families. We have been involved in some heartbreaking situations, such as helping Boris & Petal, two of the five severely neglected St Bernards rescued in collaboration with New Hope Animal Rescue back in February. We also took in a pup with severe foreleg deformities during the spring, and Wanda’s amazing journey led to two appearances on the This Morning program, and helped raise the profile of all disabled dogs in rescue. This year we have put the ‘fun’ back in fundraising and have enjoyed weekends away at Paws in the Park, Dogfest and the Kent Game & Country Fair, meeting lots of supporters and old friends, and making lots of new ones. We have partnered up with Natural Instinct, who kindly provide food for the dogs in our care, and we regularly fundraise with our local Pets at Home store having developed a great working relationship with them, and we have continued to strengthen our ties with our amazing partnered vet practices.

Sadly this years we have also had to say goodbye to a few lifetime foster dogs as they left for Rainbow Bridge, and also to a couple of CPR dogs who have passed away this year, safe in the knowledge they had amazing families who loved them very much, and we shared in their tears and grief.

We look forward to the challenges 2017 will bring, we can’t stop the irresponsible breeding, the neglect, abuse and suffering that some dogs endure year in year out, but we will do our bit – our very best – to help where we can, and we thank all our partners, sponsors, fosterers, adopters, supporters and friends & family for helping us make as much difference as we can. Happy New Year to you all from all of us here at Cinque Ports Rescue.

Please enjoy this compilation of just some of the dogs we have helped in 2016.
