George has been REHOMED.
After years of neglect, George likes to take things slowly and quietly and take in the sights at his pace. He loves to potter about the garden, taking his time to sniff and investigate, when he is done, he will happily retire to a comfortable spot and watch the world go by, he is a lovely calm little fellow. Used to dogs in his previous existence, George has been mixing with dogs of all ages and sizes during his time in our care with no problems at all. He also ignores the dog savvy cat he is in foster with. George needs to approach new people in his own time but he watches and follows his favourite people everywhere.
George has started on his basic training, helped by his love of food and he is starting his lead training but is still nervous about this new noisy world, so patience will be required to help him progress. He is clean in his bed but needs reminding to go outside, but he is improving daily with his housetraining. He is quiet at night, except for his snoring, and travels well in a car. George has had his coat clipped short due to matting, but is is happy to be groomed for short periods while it grows back.
George would love a quiet home, either with another confident dog or on his own. He is happy being left for short periods and is crate trained, though he is fine being left in his comfy bed. As George would prefer a quiet life, school age children who visit and understand to be gentle would be fine.
Please note that this breed does require regular grooming, so make sure you take these costs into consideration before submitting an application.
George is approximately 6 years old, neutered, vaccinated, chipped and worm & flea treated, and is currently being fostered in Deal, Kent.
