Rocco came to us following a horrific attack by two dogs which left him with extensive injuries. Thanks to the dedication of our vets, foster team and supporters, he has healed remarkably well both physically and emotionally, and we are so proud of how far this brave little Chihuahua has come. After completing his recovery in our care, little Rocco is finally ready to begin the next chapter of his life and find the special home he truly deserves.
5 year old Rocco is an affectionate and characterful little lad who absolutely adores attention from his favourite people. Tummy rubs are his favourite thing in the world and if you dare stop, he will gently tap your hand to remind you to continue. He is very clean in the home, enjoys getting out for a good walk and settles well into a routine. He loves his toys and enjoys throwing them around.
Rocco is a wonderful little dog with a big personality who thrives with understanding, patient, and experienced owners. He is excellent at communicating how he feels and will clearly let you know when he is unsure of a person or situation. Like many dogs, he values his food, toys, and special time with his favourite person, so he benefits from clear boundaries and consistent guidance. Although he currently lives happily with the other dogs in his foster home, we believe Rocco would truly flourish as the only dog in the household, where he can enjoy plenty of one-to-one attention, build a strong bond with his family, and feel secure in his environment. In return, he offers enormous affection, loyalty and companionship to the people he trusts.
We are looking for a calm, adult-only home, or one with older, sensible teenagers, where Rocco can continue to thrive with owners who understand and can confidently support his needs. A secure garden would be a wonderful bonus, as he loves spending time outdoors, pottering around at his own pace and soaking up the sunshine. Rocco is currently flourishing in a rural foster home, enjoying the quieter lifestyle it offers. Prospective adopters should know that he can be a cheerful little watchdog and may let you know when he spots people passing by the window, making him an excellent communicator and attentive companion.
Rocco has been through more challenges in his life than any little dog should ever face, yet he has come through it all with his loving nature, wonderful sense of humour, and an abundance of personality. He is a truly special character who brings joy, companionship, and plenty of smiles to those who know him.
