Spicy is a short-haired Chihuahua of approximately 3 years old who recently completed her 7-day stray hold after eventally being caught after being reported as straying for a prolonged period. Following a full assessment, and haveing had her routine vet work completed, we’re delighted to say she’s now ready to find her forever home.
True to her name, Spicy can be a little… well… spicy! She absolutely adores her fosterer and forms strong bonds once she feels safe. However, she does find meeting new people challenging. This behaviour is entirely fear-based, and she needs an experienced and understanding home that will allow her the time and space to settle at her own pace.
The good news? It really doesn’t take long for Spicy to learn to trust, especially as she is highly food-motivated and can definitely be won over with tasty treats!
What Spicy Needs:
- An experienced, confident owner
- A calm home with no children
- Someone patient and understanding of small dog anxieties
- Ideally an only dog, as she loves being the centre of attention (although she does live alongside two other dogs in her foster home without issue)
Once she trusts you, Spicy is affectionate, loyal, and full of character. She will thrive with someone who sees past her initial nerves and is willing to build a bond based on patience and kindness.
