Terry hasn’t had the easiest start. This lovely young terrier cross was originally found as a stray, and just when life seemed to be looking up, he suffered an unfortunate playtime accident which resulted in a break near his hip.
He underwent a femoral head removal operation, which is a very common and successful procedure, and we’re delighted to say there have been no complications. The only lasting effect is that one of Terry’s back legs is slightly shorter than the other, something that certainly doesn’t stop him enjoying life.
To help him regain the muscle he lost during his recovery, Terry has been attending weekly hydrotherapy sessions, funded by the rescue. He has already had his second session, and the progress has been nothing short of amazing. He’s already walking so much better, although he’s still a bit of a lazy lad and occasionally needs a little bribery to get moving!
Because he’s doing so well, we feel the time has come for Terry to begin the next exciting chapter of his life.
Terry is now looking for a foster home with a view to adopt.
The rescue will continue to support Terry and his new family throughout the remainder of his rehabilitation, including funding his hydrotherapy until he has fully regained his muscle strength. We simply believe that what Terry needs most now isn’t another day in rescue, it’s a family to call his own.

- Friendly with everyone he meets.
- Happy to live with other dogs, provided they’re comfortable with a young, playful and boisterous companion.
- Great with children, although we think older primary school age and above would be the best match.
- A typical young dog who loves being involved in family life and spending time with his people.
- Would suit a home where someone is around for most of the day, or where he can accompany them.
- Loves pottering around the garden, so a secure garden is essential.
Terry has shown incredible resilience, and despite everything he’s been through, he remains a happy, affectionate and fun-loving young dog. His injury doesn’t define him, it simply makes him that little bit more special.
