Rusty: Terrier cross

Rusty is RESERVED.

Rusty is a super little chap who wants to be friends with everyone, a characterful scruffy little terrier who really loves to be around people, always hoping for a treat or a belly rub. He also adores his walks where he can meet lots of people and other dogs, he always has a permanently wagging tail, he can be strong on the lead at first but soon settles down, he is always willing to g for a walk, whatever the weather! Rusty is a clever little chap and will perform a sit and wait beautifully for a treat, and will even sit for his dinner, even though he gets really excited at meal times as he does love his grub.

Rusty found his way into our care after being picked up as a stray. He was very underweight and not in the best condition with an awful urine infection and a patchy coat, but he is now fully recovered and putting on weight nicely. Although always using his walks or the garden for his ‘number twos’, when he arrived with us he would occasionally have an accident indoors, probably due to his acute urine infection, but since being neutered and going back to basics with his house training he is so much better, but his new family must understand that this may regress again slightly for a short period in a new environment.

Rusty is very active and playful, however we estimate his age to be around the 7 to 8 years old mark. As we don’t have his full history we would not be looking to rehome him with very young children and, although he is friendly with other dogs, we believe Rusty would prefer to be the only dog where he could get all the attention to himself and he would love to live with an active family.
