Meet Frankie, a beautiful Miniature Schnauzer boy who has completely stolen our hearts. This handsome lad has shown real resilience since coming into rescue, and as he settles, his lovely personality is shining through.
Frankie is now doing well in foster and learning that life can feel safe and predictable again. He is a big, strong boy at around 14kg, and while he forms deep, loyal bonds with his people, he does have an anxious side that needs understanding and guidance. With those he knows and trusts he is affectionate, playful and incredibly loving, but new people and unfamiliar situations can make him feel worried.
At home, Frankie is a bright and affectionate companion who enjoys playtime and cuddles in equal measure. Evenings are his favourite, and he loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa with his humans. He is sociable with other dogs and enjoys their company and would love another calm resident dog to snuggle up with, and help with his anxiety.
Because of his size, strength and sensitive nature, Frankie needs the right environment to thrive. He will require regular exercise, a large, secure garden, and a home with enough space to give him a safe retreat area when he feels overwhelmed or when new people visit. We are looking for a calm home without school age children.
Frankie will need a confident, experienced and capable owner who understands anxious dogs and can provide calm, consistent leadership. Someone who will advocate for him, keep him focused and safe, and continue building his confidence at the right pace. In the right hands, he is already showing lovely progress. He is very intelligent and knows lots of commands that he responds well to. We would like to home Frankie with another dog, and he would be better suited to a home without cats or small furries.
He would thrive in a calm, understanding home where adopters are around for much of the day. A home with another steady, friendly dog could suit him well. Although Frankie has previously lived with children without incident, we are looking for an adult only home.
6 year old Frankie is a truly special boy with so much love to give. For the right home, he will offer deep loyalty, affection and a wonderfully close bond.
