Ember has been REHOMED.
Ember is an energetic girl with boundless energy and has learned to love her walks, becoming more confident whilst out and about, having never been lead walked or even lived in a home environment previously. She is proving to be a complete snuggle bug, she loves to be cuddled up on a comfy lap or on a sunny spot on the sofa. Ember is very intelligent and is picking up commands quickly, and she enjoys a good food puzzle game, as well as collecting any stray socks she can get her paws on. Ember has had trips out to local shopping centres and restaurants and been well behaved at them all.
Despite all Ember’s many good points, she will need a Dachshund experienced home who understand that she needs strong boundaries, as she will push them. True to her breed characteristics she can become territorial in the home, particularly with men and possessive of ‘her’ favorite person, she is well behaved with visiting children and other dogs but can take exception, presented by barking, to some people entering what she can see as ‘her’ house. Ember has been responding well to training in her foster home but will need a strong and consistent adopter who will continue to work with her to prevent escalation in her new home.
Ember is crate trained (as long as her toy bunny is in there!), house training is almost there and she can be left for short periods as long as she has been exercised first. Unfortunately, Ember cannot live with cats or small furries.

All Cinque Ports Rescue dogs are neutered (or subject to a neutering agreement if not of appropriate age), microchipped, core vaccinated and up to date with parasite treatment. Please note that we are currently only rehoming locally to the South East Kent area although an exception may be considered for the right home for Ember. All have life time support and full backup, 4 weeks free insurance and an adoption pack including 5 kg of Natural Instinct food and nutrition information.
All home offers will be subject to vetting and a home visit, and an adoption agreement and donation are required.
