Rizzo: Miniature Dachshund

Rizzo has been REHOMED.

This is our lovely Rizzo, she has a wonderful temperament but has had to learn how to live in a home environment after living in a kennel with her original breeder. Very quiet and shy on first meeting, she has now come into our care to find family to call her own where she can continue to gain confidence at her own pace.

Although very shy about meeting new people, her foster family have been working hard with her to get her used to visitors to the home. It has been an absolute delight to see her blossom in a home environment and gain confidence, and she has developed a strong bond with her foster mum and is now an absolute snuggle bug. Rizzo is a typical young dog; showing a very cheeky side and loves stealing washing to take to a bed! Rizzo is learning to play with toys, she hasn’t shown any destructive chewing, although her new family must be mindful, that she is still very young.

Rizzo is still house training and needs taking outside regularly for the toilet. Rizzo will wear a harness happily but also needs more work on her lead training, she has been to a dog park and was very happy playing with her current pack of fellow dogs. We are looking for a home with a calm environment with at least one other confident resident dog of a similar size, although Rizzo would be most happy in a multi dog household as she enjoys the company of other dogs, all dogs must be of similar size as she can be wary of larger ones. Rizzo can be left for up to 4 hours in the company of another dog. Rizzo is good with people once she gets to know them and can be homed with children of 8 years +, although younger visiting children would be fine.
