Sammi: Poodle Crossbreed

Sammi has been REHOMED.

Sammi is a very intelligent and active dog who thrives on human interaction. He is best in a calm stress free environment, and he adores cuddling up to his favourite people on the sofa, or lounging around on the floor where he like to receive copious amounts of belly rubs. He enjoys being around his people, if you are in separate rooms he will position himself in the middle of both rooms to keep an eye on everyone. He enjoys making dens out of his blanket and lying under things, such as tables and beds.

He is very playful and enjoys a tug of war game with his toys, as well as playing fetch with a ball, particularly his glow in the dark ball which is his most treasured and always accompanies him on a walk. Sammi walks well on a lead and, once bonded, is great off lead where he enjoys going on country walks, particularly trails through the woods or a blast along the beach. Being so intelligent he also likes a good brain workout by learning a perfecting tricks, so he would be a great candidate for further training. He knows all of his basic commands and he’d really enjoy learning some more.

Despite all his wonderful points Sammi is actually quite an anxious dog, having missed out on early socialisation during lockdown, initially wary of strangers he will soon warm up and enjoy a fuss, but can get stressed by loud or strange noises and movements, so we are looking for a confident adopter who can help build his confidence.

In the home he is clean and can be left for up to 4 hours, although he does prefer having someone around. He will bark at visitors until he gets to know them, but once he does he is very affectionate. Sadly Sammi is really unhappy in the company of children, they worry him a lot so we are looking for a home where he won’t be subjected to their company. He would be best homed as an only dog with no other pets, so he can have all the attention to himself!

3 year old Sammi is neutered, microchipped, flea and worm treated and is being fostered in Deal, Kent. Please note that this breed requires regular grooming, so please take these costs into consideration before submitting an application.
