Karen Snyder: In Memoriam

Here at Cinque Ports Rescue we have been honoured to care for Karen Snyder’s ‘Herberts’ Sparky & Cassie in the final few months of Karen’s illness. These lovely words have been written by a close friend of Karen and at the bottom of this page there are ways to make a donation in Karen’s memory should you wish to do so.

All of us here at the Rescue send our most heartfelt condolences to you all on the loss of Karen.

Anyone that knew Karen will remember how much she adored her gorgeous dogs – In her own words her Herberts! Sparky & Cassie.
Karen’s Facebook page is filled with stories of their antics. She had many names for her little darlings, I quote but a few –
Sparky Dawg / Naughty Monkey / Scruff Bucket / Ninja Sausage Stealer / Special Boy.
She knew he would protect her & love her whatever situation she was in. They adored cuddles & long walks together.
Cassidy Eleanor / Princess Pops / Little Letter Shredder / Sweet Girl.
Karen marvelled at what a gentle loving soul she is and how she would love to spread herself out on her couch looking after one of her ‘babies’ (soft toy).
They adored Karen as much as she did them. Both very different characters they bought joy & delight to Karen’s life each & every day so when it came to the time that Karen could no longer care for them she battled with the decision to let them go. Thankfully Karen was accepting of the offer for both the dogs to go into foster care. Their move was sensitively carried out by a wonderful local organisation called called Cinque Ports Rescue. Luckily Karen was able to communicate with Eileen the founder & manager of CPR, of whom she already knew, which helped enormously. Both Sparky & Cassie have settled very well into their foster homes.
I cannot praise Eileen & her foster carers enough for their kindness & understanding for the past two months whilst looking after Karen’s darling dogs  All their costs of vet bills, grooming, board ect have been covered by the Rescue. They will remain with CPR until such time as adoption is considered.
I have been asked by many people if there will be a collection in memory of Karen so we felt it would be appropriate to offer this opportunity for people who’d like to do so, to please consider donating to this amazing organisation to support their ongoing costs for looking after Karen’s darling Dawgs & of course any other dogs that have found themselves needing support at a difficult time.
